The assessment was made during a meeting between Cuban Ambassador to Turkey Luis Alberto Amoros and the director general for the Americas at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Turkey, Levent Gumrukcu.

The Cuban diplomat informed his interlocutor about the United States blockade against his country and its tightening despite the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic.

In addition, Amoros thanked Turkey for its traditional support against the US blockade and spoke of Cuba’s achievements in the fight of the pandemic, among other issues.

The Turkish official ratified his country’s rejection of the US blockade.

Gumrukcu also highlighted Turkey’s diplomatic initiatives, agreed on the importance of promoting joint collaboration and addressed other issues of bilateral interest.

During the meeting, guidelines were drawn to continue with the expansion of the positive ties between the two countries, the diplomatic source said.
