She told La Primerisima Radio that they are immunizing the personnel of all healthcare centers and hospitals in the country, which directly attend the population.

Reyes recalled that following the government’s guidelines, priority was given to patients with chronic diseases, such as renal, oncological, diabetic and hypertensive patients.

Healthcare workers who receive the first dose starting on Monday are inoculated with the Covishield immunizer, manufactured by India’s Serum Institute.

In March, Nicaragua received two shipments from India, one through the World Health Organization mechanism, of Covax vaccines, which amounted to 135,000 doses, and another (of 200,000) as a donation from that country.

Previously, on February 22, a donation of 6,000 doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V arrived in Managua, with which the immunization campaign began.
