México, huracán, Agatha, consecuencias
Mexico, Jun 1 (Prensa Latina) Hurricane Agatha killed 11 people, and left 33 missing and severe material damages in homes, roads, power lines and agriculture, Oaxaca Governor Alejandro Murat reported on Wednesday.

In a direct communication with President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador during the daily morning press briefing at the National Palace, the official gave details of the tragedy and said that Oaxaca is in mourning.

In today’s report about Agatha, which is dissipating, we have this unfortunate death toll, but this is preliminary result because the investigations and reports continue and we have to corroborate the information, especially in the coastal area, highlands, the southern highlands and the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, the most affected region, the governor said.

Murat added that the worst effects were the strong river currents and landslides caused by heavy rains.

The National Water Commission (CONAGUA) is very active and has already distributed drinking water tanks, with more than 60,000 liters, in several places, has two drinking water plants in Oaxaca, and other support actions, he noted.

Medical brigades are mobilized in the affected areas and are trying to reach the municipalities that remain cut off to send people to places where food, medicines and other supplies are available.
