He stated that Tibisay was like that and meant that when she insisted on doing things “she did them well, on time; she was like an oasis of affection, ”he emphasized.

The also deputy to the National Assembly expressed to Lucena “eternal gratitude” for preserving a large part of the peace of Venezuela and pointed out that the Minister of University Education until the moment of her death, knew how to exercise a position with objectivity, balance, dignity , purity and transparency.

This Thursday the legislative body also paid posthumous tribute to her deceased and approved a draft agreement in her name in plenary session.

The member of the Permanent Commission on Foreign Policy, Sovereignty and Integration, Desiree Santos, when presenting the proposal, pointed out that Lucena was the first woman to preside over the Electoral Power in Venezuela, from where she directed between 2006 and 2020, 18 electoral processes.

She also praised her courage, mettle, integrity and loyalty to her democratic principles and ideals, and for having been a great defender of women’s rights and protection.

Yesterday in the same place, President Nicolás Maduro highlighted the courage and patriotism of the Venezuelan woman, represented in the former president of the Electoral Power.

Maduro said she was an example for all those who during all these years participated in the construction of a project for an absolutely free and sovereign country and was the protagonist of the construction of a system that guaranteed absolutely reliable electoral processes in the last 24 years.
