DPRK carries out nuclear counterattack drill

Pyongyang, Apr 23 (Prensa Latina) The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) carried out on Monday a nuclear counterattack drill that included the launching of several short-range ballistic missiles and was supervised by the country's leader, Kim Jong Un.

According to an official statement carried by the state-run ACNC news agency today, the exercise is “a clear warning signal” for being carried out at a time when enemies are preparing against the DPRK for a military confrontation “in an extremely provocative and aggressive manner.”

The simulation included super-large caliber multiple rocket units which, according to the source, will play an “important role in substantially strengthening the immediate counterattack capability of the country’s nuclear force” and as a war deterrent.

The exercise was supervised by the general secretary of the Workers’ Party and chairman of the State Affairs Committee, Kim Jong Un, and ended when the missiles “accurately” hit the target island, located 352 kilometers away.

The also supreme commander of the People’s Army said he was “very satisfied” with the training result and compared the accuracy of the rocket launchers to that of a sniper, ACNC reported.
