Cuba and China reaffirm willingness to strengthen cooperation

Havana, May 27 (Prensa Latina) Senior party leaders from Cuba and China stressed on Monday in Havana the good state of bilateral ties, and expressed their willingness to strengthen mutual cooperation.

Such willingness was expressed today by the Secretary of Organization of Cuba’s Communist Party (PCC), Roberto Morales, and the Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Committee of the China’s Communist Party and Governor of Guangdong Wang Weizhong.

Morales pointed out that Wang’s visit will allow for the expansion of inter-party and inter-governmental ties, as well as an analysis of the potential that exists with Guangdong province in several sectors. According to a report in the Granma newspaper, during the meeting, the party leader ratified Cuba’s unwavering support for the one-China principle and its rejection of any interference in the internal affairs of China.

Morales also expressed his gratitude for the Chinese Government’s unwavering support for the struggle to lift the economic, commercial and financial US blockade against Cuba.

Meanwhile, Wang noted that the treatment received on Cuba was evidence of the friendly relations between peoples and parties.

The Chinese deputy secretary said that during his intense agenda in Cuba, he signed agreements with the University of Havana and plans to visit the scientific pole in the west, as well as hold talks with the capital’s authorities.
