The great jazz festival in Havana continues on its fifth day

Havana, Jan 29 (Prensa Latina) The 2026 International Jazz Plaza Festival continues today with a broad cultural program that will bring together Cuban and international artists at various venues in the capital.

The Avellaneda Hall of the National Theater of Cuba will host the concert “Havana and New York Afro-Cuban Jazz Piano,” featuring American Christian Sands and Cuban Dayramir Gonzalez, accompanied by singer Yanet Valdes and the Spanish group Compota de Manana.

Cubans Rolando Luna, Yilian Cañizares, and Liliet Orozco will headline the evening at the Covarrubias Hall with the show “From Lecuona to Ravel,” at 6:00 p.m. local time.

From the National Museum of Fine Arts, the iconic Bobby Carcasses will present “From Blues to Songo and Son” at 7:00 p.m. local time, while the Pabellon Cuba joins the grand jazz celebration with Son Matamoros, Papa Mambo from Canada, Conjunto Roberto Faz, and Yarima Blanco y su Son Latino at 2:00 p.m. local time.

Also in the evening, the Fabrica de Arte Cubano will present “Cuban Suite” by Amina Figarova’s sextet, featuring musicians from Azerbaijan, Belgium, Cuba, and the United States, while Septeto Santiaguero will close the day’s events in Nave 4.

The program also includes concerts by various international artists at the Casa de la Cultura in Plaza de la Revolucion, the Cesar Jazz Club, Casa Corazon Feliz, the Agencia de Rap, and the Amadeo Roldan Conservatory, among other cultural institutions.
