“The Islamic Republic of Iran has not attempted to assassinate the Unites States President and sought to have him punished in international courts,” Jalali stated this Thursday in an interview with the Sputnik news agency.
According to the diplomat, US intelligence services also did not confirm the president’s claims.
“Trump tried to boost his popularity with these kinds of statements during the election period,” the ambassador said.
At the same time, he noted that the death of Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei (1939-2026), has become a destabilizing factor whose consequences are difficult to predict.
In early March, Trump stated in an interview with ABC News that the Iranian leadership had allegedly tried to eliminate him on two occasions.
