Dmitriev, who is also the presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation with foreign countries, posted on his Telegram channel that “many countries, first and foremost the United States, are beginning to see more clearly that Russian oil and gas play a key and fundamental role in the stability of the global economy, and the sanctions on Russia are ineffective and destructive.”
The high-ranking Russian official made this comment after meeting on Wednesday in Florida with White House envoy Steve Witkoff, US President Donald Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner, and Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum, in the context of a group focused on economic cooperation between Russia and the United States.
Dmitriev stated that the meeting “addressed promising projects that could contribute to restoring Russian-US relations and resolving the current crisis in energy markets.”
