The company announced that the single performance in Panama is scheduled for August 2 at Balboa Theater, while performances in Costa Rica will run from August 5 to 8 at the National Auditorium Theater in San Jose.
The cast will be led by dancers Lilia Laura Martinez, Lianet Sotolongo, and Lauren Fuentes, who will take on the dual role of Odette/Odile.
Meanwhile, the role of Prince Siegfried will be performed by principal dancers Abraham Quinones, Marlon Hernandez, and Yerandy Tapanes, while Pablo Gonzalez will portray the sinister sorcerer Von Rothbart.
The choreographic version to be staged is an adaptation by Laura Alonso based on the work of her mother, the legendary Alicia Alonso—who had herself reworked the original by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, set to the iconic music of Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky—according to national media reports.
Costume design was handled by Gerner Garrido, Luis Enrique Pinero, Dania Diaz, and Abelardo Castini, while the set design was created by Omar Figueredo.
The Cuban Center for the Promotion of Dance (ProDanza) is a company founded and directed by Laura Alonso, daughter of *prima ballerina assoluta* Alicia Alonso and master teacher Fernando Alonso—the founders of the Cuban Ballet technique and school.
