On its profile on X, the Cuban Foreign Ministry highlighted the event, which marks the 64th anniversary of Independence Day for millions of Senegalese in that African country and abroad.
In that context, Cuba congratulated the people and government of Senegal, a nation that has maintained its support for the Caribbean island to demand the lifting of the economic blockade imposed by the US Government for more than 60 years.
On August 9, both nations will celebrate the 50th anniversary of bilateral ties, a scenario in which the two countries have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening and expanding them to areas of shared interest.
